Dedales

In Greek mythology, Daedalus was a skillful craftsman and artisan. He also created the Labyrinth on Crete, in which the Minotaur (part man, part bull) was kept. In the story of the labyrinth Hellenes told, the Athenian hero Theseus is challenged to kill the Minotaur, finding his way with the help of Ariadne's thread.

Inspired by Daedalus and by the story of the Labyrinth I decided to create this coffee table.

 

 

Dedales is a coffee table, also called a cocktail table, a style of long, low table which is designed to be placed in front of a sofa, to support beverages (hence the name), magazines, books (especially coffee table books), and other small items to be used while sitting.

 Usually, a coffee table is the center point of a sitting area and centerpiece of the room. This area might be a small, cozy place with a sofa and a couple of chairs or an elegant living room designed for entertaining guests. Consider coordinating the coffee table with a piece of furniture or other feature of the room.
